About Renee Scott

Hi! I’m Renee Scott, a Reiki master and longtime bodywork practitioner. I studied under Barbara Rose in the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage beginning in 2017 and became a master in 2018.

I feel like my guardian angels put me here, practicing Reiki, for a reason. I’ve been through so much in my life, and Reiki has changed it in so many ways. Even when things are hard, Reiki has been an amazing gift for me. I love sharing that gift with other people.

My background is in massage therapy. I graduated from massage school in 2004 and became nationally certified in 2012. I was always drawn to orthopedic modalities like sports, deep tissue, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretches. Over the years, I’ve learned from the variety of chiropractors, physical therapists, and other practitioners that I’ve worked with. I began Divine Healing in 2018 to help people connect to their body’s own innate healing capabilities.

Always a student, I continually study and work to understand and perfect my craft.

Reviews for Divine Healing

  • Renee has greatly helped my health through Reiki. My energy has changed for the better. She noticed and identified areas where I needed to follow up with medical practitioners. She’s helped me process stored emotions, physical pain, and spiritual pain. She is a genuinely kind and delightful human who is happy to help people on their healing journey. I cannot recommend her enough.

  • I've experienced a strong flow of Reiki while working with Renee. For me, the signs that "it's working" include muscle twitches, rapid eye movement, and a deep sense of relaxation. But so much of Reiki is about how you come back into the world after a session, and I leave Renee's practice feeling open, integrated, and connected to the world.

 About Reiki

Reiki is universal life force energy. A Reiki practitioner simply acts as a channel, directing the flow of the source energy to a recipient so it can do healing that it needs to do.

With intelligence of its own, Reiki goes where healing is required to reach a higher consciousness, higher self, or better version of oneself. It’s a healing modality that’s complementary to medical care and other mental and physical therapies.

To get the benefits of Reiki, all you have to do is be open to receiving the energy. Clients find that Reiki:

  • Relaxes their body and mind

  • Releases tension

  • Fosters feelings of harmony

  • Clears energy blocks

  • Promotes healing

What happens during a Reiki session?

You dress for your comfort, and you stay fully clothed during a Reiki session. You simply lie on the cushioned table (or in your own bed, if it’s a distance Reiki session), get into a relaxed state, and keep yourself open to receiving Reiki energy.

During the session, energy is simply flowing from the practitioner to you. You're allowing life force energy to come in and heal; I am merely acting as a channel or a bridge for the energy. I use Usui Reiki hand positions and intuitive hand placements—with my hands on or above your body during in-person sessions—to channel energy to you. Sessions are usually silent, but I’ll share any intuitive messages or questions that come to me while I work.

Most people experience Reiki as a deep sense of relaxation. They sometimes go into a deep meditative state or simply fall asleep — that’s often the quickest path to getting the conscious mind out of the way to allow intuitive healing. Because we remove our egos and our consciousness in sessions, the Reiki can free flow to the places you need it most.

What should I expect after my Reiki session?

It varies! Some people, especially as they begin their Reiki journey, feel like they took an expensive but luxuriously restful nap. Other people feel energized and walk out on cloud nine. Because Reiki can be working to clear energy blockages in the body, clients can feel emotionally exhausted or agitated, even days later, because the Reiki targeted something uncomfortable that your conscious self needs to work on and heal.

It’s important to pay attention to the thoughts and feelings that came up during your session; Reiki has brought them to the surface for a reason. Even the uncomfortable feelings are for your greater good — and they show up where some of the most important healing needs to take place.

How often should I get Reiki?

I get Reiki every two weeks, but it’s a personal and intuitive choice about how often Reiki sessions are right for you. It depends where you're at in life and what you're trying to achieve. Reiki can never do any harm, so you can receive Reiki as often as you want, on a regular schedule as self-maintenance, or on a one-off basis as you feel you need it.

Isn’t Reiki just woo-woo?

Reiki falls into the “woo-woo” category, but don't knock it until you try it with an open mind! Researchers continue to build a wealth of data that supports the power of the mind in driving our well-being. Bessel van der Kolk’s seminal book The Body Keeps the Score details the ways unresolved trauma and emotions manifest physically; the energy of the mind can create physical pain, and energy can help to heal that pain too. Medical Reiki studies done in major hospitals during surgery and recovery show noticeably better outcomes when Reiki is used as a complementary therapy.
